This time of year can feel like we're being pulled from pillar to post, gearing up for the holidays and often forgetting to check in with our needs and boundaries. It can also be a really challenging time for many different reasons and it's always lovely to have a space to go and there not be any expectation to be a certain way. 

​

I'm currently running my 10 Week Group Somatic Coaching Programme called Embody Your Joy, which is a great opportunity to allocate time each week for nurturing practices and getting to know those parts of us that don't generally let us experience Joy & Rest.

 

Despite it being called 'Embody Your Joy', we need to allow space for all our emotions and life circumstances, to begin to allow space for Joy to show up. 

​

This donation based mini-workshop offers a taste of Soothing Somatic Movement & Meditation, and time for Creative Rest; A short and sweet creative practice to help you connect with the little joys. 

​

You don't need any experience, or much equipment; You can join with one sheet of A4 and some coloured pens or pencils!

 Embody your Joy; Move, Rest & Create with intention.

The Workshop Includes:

 

1 Somatic Movement Practice - 

To help you connect to your body and breath, reset your nervous system and check in with your needs.

Somatic movement can help to reduce physical and mental tension, learn to feel safe within your body and

acknowledge the emotions that are present, with compassion, curiosity and openess.  

Remember emotions are a broad spectrum between feeling despair, and feeling joyful and ecstatic,

and a Somatic approach aims to help you recognise that your emotions are not the enemy

and there is nothing wrong with you. You can feel and be safe.

1 Meditation Practice 

Pause and invite your imagination & creative intuition to expand through connection to your creative Inner Child.

Options are provided to ensure a sensitive approach.

1 Creative Practice - Zine Making!

Make your own (Maga)Zine, Sketchbook or Scrapbook - YOUR LITTLE ZINE OF JOY  

There is something so satisfying about creating something with your hands, especially something you can then scribble, draw or write over! Your own little booklet of Joy or Creativity. 

I'll guide you through making the Zine and encourage you to bring crayons, pastels or paints to decorate it. 

We will refer back to the inner child meditation & see what comes out!

1 Flow Writing / Journaling -

Some people prefer to write and your little booklet could be a book of journaling prompts, poems or short stories.

I'll provide a few journal prompts for those who want to write.

​You will need:

 

For Somatic Movement & Meditation

Space to move - Yoga mat is optional. 

Comfortable, loose clothing. Pjs are perfectly acceptable!

A blanket for comfort / to avoid getting chilly.

A space to sit or lie down for meditation. 

 

For Creating or Journaling

A comfortable place to sit for journal or drawing.

A desk / dining table and comfy chair.

Paper (Printer paper is ok for writing or drawing on) or a Journal.

Mixed Media Paper (if wanting to paint) 

Pencils, Coloured Pencils / Pens / Crayons. 

Anything you want to stick in your Zine!

Objects that bring you Joy!

These can be used as inspiration & to create your little Zine of Joy.
