I'M NEW TO YOGA, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
In most Yoga classes you will tend to start with a meditation or breathing practice (Pranayama), to help settle the mind and body, this will then lead into a warm up and series of postures (Asanas) that help to strengthen and stretch the body, finally ending the class with a relaxation / meditation to allow body and mind to rest and restore. However, it really does depend on the type of class you attend, as there are lots of different styles of Yoga.
If you are completely new to yoga, I recommend that you attend a beginners class or specific course, to get used to the basics and boost your confidence. If you're happy to try out new classes or have done a few classes before, then you may wish to attend a few styles to see what works for you.
Remember in any class to always respect and listen to what your body is telling you and move within your own boundaries. Your body will tell you when something doesn't feel right, so don't force it. Also, don't be afraid to ask your teacher questions, if you're unsure on any aspects of Yoga.

Yoga has a variety of different benefits, on a physical, emotional and mental level.
You may leave your class feeling calmer, stronger, focused and re-energised, ready to take on the everyday challenges! Although the practice is personal and introspective, with a class setting there is a social element to it and you may also meet some likeminded people and create new friendships.
WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?
Yoga Nidra is a completely still type of mediation practice. The difference being that in Meditation we are conscious and focusing on one point. During Yoga Nidra you are taken through various stages of brainwave activity, from Beta... fully awake... Alpha... the state of meditation, through to Theta and Delta... a state of deep relaxation. It's in Theta that we are awakening our creative and imaginative nature.

All you need to do is make a cosy space to lie down in, lots of pillows and blankets and listen to my voice. You will be guided through a type of relaxation which helps to slow down the brainwaves. The aim is to remain awake and aware, however sometimes we do fall asleep. This is perfectly normal and just what your mind and body needs in that moment.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF YOGA?
There are so many benefits of doing yoga and people come to Yoga for many different reasons, whether that's for physical or medical problems or emotional and mental issues.
Yoga can help you:
improve and maintain the health of muscles, joints and organs
keep your mind healthy
get a better night’s sleep
improve performance and prevent injuries in sports
speed recovery from training
prevent conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and auto-immune disorders
slow down the negative effects of an office job
and increase your sense of happiness and well being.

Remember, Yoga is a practice and the more we practice the easier it becomes and the more the benefits will start to show. Yoga is a way of life and there will always be challenges in your practice, just like in life. Come to your mat with no judgement or expectation. It's your safe space to simply explore and to learn more about yourself.
I'M NOT FLEXIBLE, CAN I STILL DO YOGA?
Of course! Yoga is not about being flexible and you don't have to be flexible to start. Over time you may gain flexibility and greater mobility, which is one of the benefits of practicing but shouldn't be the overall goal!
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO YOGA WITH ME?
Please wear comfortable clothing, no socks and bring a bottle of water. If you have long hair, you may feel more comfortable with it tied back. Although yoga mats are sometimes provided, we recommend that you invest in and bring your own mat and block/ strap to class with you. Yoga blocks and straps are fantastic tools to help enhance your physical Yoga practice. They provide length, stability and support in many different ways! I demonstrate and provide options for those who may wish to use props.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING THE FACIAL MASSAGE?
We will start with a short relaxation; neck, shoulder and head massage, to calm and rest the body to ensure that you are fully comfortable before we begin. We then move onto whole body and energy balance through acupressure of the face, followed by smoothing and lifting techniques to help relieve muscular tension and a series of stabilising movements to further encourage the replenishment and regeneration of facial tissues. To aid removal of any toxins which have now been released into the body, we use an effective lymphatic drainage technique across the chest, followed by a final grounding to slowly re-awaken and stimulate your relaxed state of mind.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR THE FACIAL MASSAGE?
To get the most out of your experience, it's advised that you wear soft trousers or leggings, with no heavy or uncomfortable belts or embellishment.
As you will receive a luxurious shoulder and neck massage, it is also advised that you remove your top, t-shirt and any bra or vest straps. Whilst on the treatment table, your body will be covered with a towel or blanket.
WHAT TYPE OF OIL DO YOU USE FOR THE MASSAGE?
I use Grapeseed oil as it has been tested against all allergies and is the most safest / hypoallergenic type of oil. If you have any allergies or sensitive skin please let me know beforehand, as we may need to conduct a patch test on your skin prior to the massage. I do not use essential oils.
WILL I SEE THE BENEFITS AFTER ONE FACIAL MASSAGE?
You may find that your skin appears brighter and feels firmer after one session, however this isn't always the case. External and lifestyle factors will play a part and it may take more than one treatment to reap the benefits. It is recommended that you have at least 4 - 5 treatments, once a week and incorporate a regular skincare routine.
After one session, you may however feel extremely relaxed and peaceful, as the massage stimulates the nervous system, helping to calm, soothe and activate the relaxation response. Regular sessions can help to reduce and manage your stress levels and aid sleep.
I'VE BOOKED A MASSAGE / YOGA CLASS BUT I'M NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT, CAN I CANCEL, REARRANGE OR GET A REFUND?

HOW LONG ARE THE NATURAL LIFT FACIAL MASSAGE TREATMENTS?
