BREATHE, BALANCE, RECONNECT
The practice of 'Yoga' has been around for thousands of years and was very different to the Yoga practice we see today. Ancient Yogis used their natural surroundings, such as animals and nature, to help them find inner peace and happiness. 'Yoga', derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’, ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’, is essentially a spiritual discipline which focuses on bringing harmony and balance between mind and body, which can be achieved by following sage Patanjali's Eightfold path (8 Limbs of Yoga). We need Yoga more than ever now, to help us reconnect with ourselves and spend some time away from the busy, technical and externally stimulating world we live in today.
The wonderful thing about this ancient Indian practice, is that there is something for everyone, whether you crave the movement and physical elements, helping to build strength and flexibility or being still in the moment, focusing on the breath and finding softness and peace to help reduce mental stress and chatter.

Join my Gentle Yoga classes to help improve strength, mobility and posture, help to reduce stress, sleep better and in turn feel more energised!
Due to the size of the room, classes are kept small (5 - 6 people) which is perfect for building a connection with your teacher and developing your practice further in a safe and supportive environment.
We will explore physical Asana practice, Sun Salutations, warming up the body and staying safe in foundational postures, as well as getting the most out of your practice through the use of props and modifications. We will look at how to work with the breath (Pranayama) to help support our practice and ease stress and tension in the body and mind. This is a slower paced style of class to help find what works for you.
Booking is essential due to limited space.

Vinyasa (Strong) - In this 75 minute class, we move in sync with the breath, flowing from one posture to the next in a creative sequence that is sure to build strength and flexibility. Each month is focused around a different theme as we explore Yoga Asana, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Yoga Philosophy.
All classes start and end with an opportunity to slow it all down and simply connect with your breath.
Plenty of options are given for this mixed ability class.
Essentials - Introduces you to Yoga and new ways to approach your posture, breath and meditative practice. There will be lots of opportunities to use props and modify poses to help ease you in.
Perfect for Beginners but great for anyone at any stage in their yoga journey!

As with all of my Gentle or Beginners classes, we work through postures slowly, getting to understand the foundations, learn what feels good in our body and how to connect with the breath.

Join me every week at the Yoga Borne Studio in Stirchley for an After School Kids Yoga Adventure!
Each month classes will be based around a different theme but will keep a similar structure; this includes breathing techniques and a wide variety of Yoga postures which help promote balance, strength and flexibility, as well as partnership working, creating friendships, building trust and communication skills.
Yoga encourages children to explore their surroundings, social interactions and emotions. My classes are creative and educational, providing structure and support for the children but still allowing freedom of expression!
Drop your kids off on Tuesdays after School whilst you run a few errands or come along on Thursdays and join in with the Yoga fun!
